Install Windows 8 From A USB Drive
Installing Windows 8 from a USB Drive is fairly easy. Whether you have a Windows 8 DVD or a Windows 8 ISO file you’ve downloaded from Microsoft, you can use a free Microsoft tool to copy the Windows 8 installation files to a USB drive and install Windows 8 from the USB drive.
Via::makeuseof
Microsoft’s official “Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool” is used for this. It’s not just for Windows 7, it also works with Windows 8. You’ll need a USB drive that’s at least 4 GB in size for Windows 8’s installer to fit on it. The contents of the USB drive will be erased by this process, so back up any important files first.
Create a Windows 8 ISO File
To copy Windows 8 to a USB stick, you’ll first need to create an ISO file from the Windows 8 disc. If you already have a Windows 8 ISO file you’ve downloaded from Microsoft, you’re good to go. If not then create
Download & Run Microsoft’s Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool. Don’t worry. It’ll work with Windows 8.
> Launch the tool after installing it and browse to the Windows 8 ISO image you created or
downloaded from Microsoft.
> Select the USB device media type to continue.
> Ensure your USB drive is connected to your computer and select it in the list. Remember, the
USB drive must have at least 4 GB of free space and its contents will be erased.
> The tool will now format your USB drive, make it bootable, and copy the Windows 8 installer
files to it. This will take several minutes. You’ll see the message “Backup completed” when
the tool is finished.
Install Windows 8
You can now install Windows 8 from the USB drive. If you want to install Windows 8 on a computer that currently has Windows on it, you can insert the USB drive into the computer, browse to the USB drive in Windows Explorer, and launch the setup.exe program on it. This will start the installation process.
If you have a computer without Windows installed on it, you’ll need to boot the computer from the USB drive. Insert the USB drive into your computer, then restart it. It should automatically boot from the USB drive, starting the Windows 8 installation process.
If this doesn’t happen automatically, you’ll need to change the boot order in your BIOS. Press the key that appears when you turn your computer on (often Delete or F2), locate the Boot Order section in your BIOS, and increase the priority of your USB drive so that the computer will try to boot from the USB drive. Save your settings and exit the BIOS after changing this option. Different computers use different BIOSs that have different interfaces and require different key presses to open.
After going through this process, you’ll be able to install Windows 8 from a USB drive just as you could from a DVD

Pandora Windows Brings Pandora Online Radio Streaming To Windows 8
The name Pandora needs no introduction in the world of online radio. We all love listening to music and Pandora has been providing us with quick access to our favorite music for quite a while now. If you have recently switched to Windows 8 and are looking for a way to access Pandora radio in a Modern UI environment, then Pandora Windows is probably your best bet. The application is designed to let you sign in to your Pandora account and synchronize your radio stations with the app’s playlist. It boasts an elegant interface, ease of use and fast streaming, lets you add radio stations to your library and stream music via the integrated media player. You can add stations by Artist, Song, Genre and Album, quite similar to how the Pandora web interface itself works.
The application is available at Windows Store for free. To download it, head over to Windows Store and hit Win + Q on your keyboard to bring up Search charms bar. Now, type in Pandora Windows in the search bar and hit enter. Select the app from the main window to open its in-Store page. Clicking Install will begin the download process.
After installation, the app will be pinned to the Start Screen. Upon launch, you are presented with a interface that holds a Sign In box to the upper left. Since you need to log in to the service to access your stations, input your Email and Password and click or tap the Sign In button. If you don’t have an account, click Create one now!
The main screen displays all the added radio stations as tiles. If you have created a new account, this screen will be empty, and you will be required to add the radio stations manually. All you need is to input the radio name in the search field and press enter. As stated earlier, Pandora Windows allows you to search the radio stations by artist, album, genre and song. When the results appear on the screen, simply click your desired radio to add it to the list.
Right clicking anywhere on the screen brings up the options bar at the bottom. This bar lets you Pin the station directly to the Start Screen. You simply need to right click the tile, input the Tile name and clickPin to Start. You can click Refresh to refresh the list of stations from here.
Clicking a tile on the main screen plays the track from the selected artist or album. The playback section displays the Channel title at the top, as well as Artist and Album name, along with the current track. It also allows you to skip to the proceeding track by clicking Next. In addition, a mini biography about the artist pops up right next to track history list. The like and unlike buttons lets you rate the music. Lastly, the application enables you to share the current track with your friends either by mail or other social media apps you may have installed. To do this, simply click Share from the Charms Bar.
Pandora Windows works only on Windows 8. Testing was carried out on Windows 8, 64-bit edition.

Missing all this action is its elder brother, the Surface for Windows 8 Proabout whom no price/availability details have been revealed. How does the Surface Pro tab score in the specifications department? Here you go.
The huge advantage that Surface Pro has against Surface for Windows RT is its ability to run all desktop applications which can run on the Windows platform. This means you can install your favorite VLC player against the default Windows Media Player on the Windows 8 Pro environment (64-bit).
The Surface Pro runs on the third generation Intel Core i5 Processor with Intel HD Graphics 4000, a huge win over other tablets and a welcome change. It supports 4GB RAM (Dual Channel Memory) which can assist the user in carrying out powerful tasks which usually consume more memory, with ease right from the tablet device.
The Surface Pro has impressive storage options – 64GB and 128GB, which is a welcome addition to its commendable RAM storage.
Sporting a 10.6″ ClearType Full HD Display screen with 10-point multi-touch, this tablet device from Microsoft carries a pen along, having support for pen input. Two 720p HD LifeCams, in the rear and front, allow users to not just click great snaps but also engage in video-calling with their loved ones.
The Surface Pro sports a full-size USB 3.0 port, a microSDXC card slot and will have a battery lifeof approximately 5-6 hours (not confirmed).
Measuring 10.81 x 6.81 x 0.53 inches, it weighs 0.9 kg and comes with a unique VaporMg casing over the surface, thanks to the research efforts of the Microsoft Surface team.
The Surface Pro is mostly suitable for heavy business work etc. where easy running of all desktop applications is a compulsory need. With its impressive specifications and hardware details, Microsoft Surface Pro definitely packs a punch in this competitive tablet race.
Microsoft is yet to reveal details on its availability and pricing – this will most likely to be done on October 26, 2012.

Search For & View Lyrics Of Any Song With musiXmatch For Windows 8
Listening to songs is probably the best way to relax. Some people like to do it while working, and others like doing it in their free time. In the past, people had to buy cassettes and CD’s in order to listen to songs, but nowadays, you can just buy them online and download them to your computer, smartphone and portable media player. Another advantage of using the internet to listen to your music is that you can search for lyrics for each song. The Windows Store is slowly filling up with music related apps. Last week, we covered the TuneIn Radio app for Windows 8. Today, we have a lyrics app for Windows 8 that, like TuneIn, is already fairly popular on Android and iOS platforms. musiXmatch Lyrics allows you to search for the lyrics of any song, whether on your computer or not, and view information about the artist, such as their biography, discography etc.
Compared to its Android and iOS counterparts, the Windows version comes with limited features. While the Android and iOS variants provide users with several playback and playlist navigation controls, the Windows version, apart from searching for lyrics, only lets you play or stop a song. Plus, it also doesn’t allow you to create playlists or navigate through your music collection. In order to download the app, open Windows Store, use Win+Q to bring up search bar and then type in music match lyrics. Now, select the Lyrics app from the main window.
This will open the in-Store page of the app. From the left side, click the Install button in order to download and install the app to your device.
The main page of the app displays the top songs from around the world. All the top tracks are categorized into 4 groups including Top United States, Top World, Top United Kingdom and My Music.
In order to search for the lyrics of a song, press Win + Q to bring up the search bar at the right side, enter the name of the song and then press Enter or click/tap search button.
Now, select the required search result to view the lyrics of the song.
As stated earlier, it also lets you search the lyrics for songs that are saved on your PC. Just right click the song, and select Lyrics from Open With menu to play the song in the app as well as display the lyrics.
Hopefully, future versions of the app include some options for playing songs, navigating through the music collection and managing playlists. musiXmatch Lyrics works on both 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows 8. We tested it on Windows 8 64-bit.
